The 65th Anniversary of the 1st Sonic Boom on Earth
Growing up Chuck Yeager was one of my hero’s even though he was long retired from the Air Force. After reading his autobiography I became enamored with him and the era in which he flew not because of his skills or bravery, but because of his single-minded approach to life. All he wanted to do was fly and every decision he made was based around that simple desire. His passion for doing what he loved was something that really resonated with me.
Besides passion, General Yeager also gave 100% to what he did be it flying, hiking, or partying. It’s likely that his desire to learn every last thing about flying and airplanes saved his life on numerous occasions. He was a guy who lived every minute to the fullest and apparently is still doing so today at the age of 89.
It was awesome to see the General on the news yesterday and to remember the 2 simple lessons from his life – passion and effort and how they are timeless.
