The cheapest way to end homelessness is ridiculously simple, according to the largest-ever US study
This headline caught my eye and I read it thinking it would be just another stupid idea that doesn’t really get to the root of the matter.
After reading the article I realize I may have been wrong, and in fact I hadn’t thought about the problem deeply enough. On the surface giving homeless people homes sounds crazy, but one we consider the financial impact to society of homelessness it all makes perfect sense.
I suspect many cities suffer the same vacant home problem as Rochester, so it’s possible there’s already a decent supply of homes available.
Clearly the current method of dealing with the homeless doesn’t work, so why not try something different?
